Baby Girl L

3 Month Old L is just as sweet as she can be, as are her parents! I first met them when I took their maternity photos and they are the kind of people that you just instantly feel comfortable with. It was like seeing an old friend at our Saturday session! B and C- I hope you enjoy your sneak peek, can’t wait until the 6 month session!

Top Ten- Baby Girl

Here is the first of my top ten personal photos from 2008. I am looking at these from a mom’s eye as well as a photographer’s eye, so these may not be the best technically, but I love them anyway.

I know these are three photos, but they count as one since they are in a series! Taken in January 2008, in an Orlando hotel room, I love them because of the little arm dimple, the adorable little nose, and the way she is being tender with her baby. My baby doesn’t look like this anymore- she is looking so much more grown up now that it makes my heart ache to look at these.

Top ten…

Unfortunately a session from this past weekend had to be rescheduled and in lieu of new photos I want to start a little blog project here to recap photos from this past year.  Now through the end of the year I will be posting my top ten favorite client photos and my top ten favorite personal photos of 2008.

This first top 10 favorite of 2008 is a little cutie that I photographed twice this year, and each time she loved the camera.  I got lots of smiles out of Ms. Z but this one I love because of those big beautiful eyes looking up at me and especially because of her one finger on her right hand- it was her one year photo shoot and I love how she is giving a #1!

Bediboo sessions!

So excited to be partnering up with Bediboo!  Bediboo is a great shop in Baltimore for all things baby and kid.  You can see their site here: http://www.bediboo.com/storenews.html

I will be doing mini-sessions at Bediboo on Saturday, December 6th from 10-2.  You can call the store (410-444-6060) for more info and to schedule a time, or you can just come out on those dates, shop around, and get your child’s picture taken with no sitting or session fee! There will be special mini-packages available just for these Bediboo sessions.

Feel free to bring any fun things you might want in the picture, or email me if you have any questions about the pics.

Hope to see you there!

Hello!

5 Weeks Old and so alert!  Sweet baby girl C…

Adour at the St. Regis Hotel

Somehow this portrait photographer has become an event photographer!  My heart is still with portraits (and good thing because there are more to come in Nov/Dec!) but photographing events is more interesting than I originally thought it would be.  Meeting people coming together for business ventures, corporate retreats, conferences- people at the top of their professional game- is inspiring and really fun as well.

I am usually not able to share photos of the people attending the events, but I do like to share photos of the scene here as I can!

Monday night I was at the St. Regis Hotel in Washington D.C. (that seems to be another theme lately for me!) for an event held at the amazing Adour Restaurant.

While the rest of the St. Regis hotel is decidedly traditional and gilded, Adour is dark, sleek, and modern.  I had fun with this mirrored wall opposite the extensive wine selection.

Supreme Honor

Last night, on a night that made history, a night that will change the course of America for all time, a night that was so emotional for so many, I had my own once in a lifetime experience.

I photographed an event at the United States Supreme Court with Justice Stephen Breyer, who gave an inspiring and very informative (not to mention funny) talk in the Supreme Court courtroom.  Cameras were not permitted in the courtroom itself, but I was thrilled to take photos elsewhere outside and inside for the event.

Last night, first standing in the Supreme Court in our nation’s captial and then sitting at home with my husband watching Barack Obama be announced the 44th President of the United States, I couldn’t have been a prouder American.  I hope that we can come together as a nation no matter who you supported in the election, to help right this course that has been so stormy of late.

Yours truly in front of the courtroom- taken by the lovely Megan of This Chick is Fascinating

Couple Holiday Session in Baltimore…

Yesterday’s session with Jodi and Andrew was a pleasure- a peaceful setting and nice crisp weather, and a really wonderful couple that was up for anything, including climbing a fallen tree!

Here are a couple of sneak peeks!

Family

You might recognize this couple from the last couple of blog posts! I met up with the newlyweds and their adorable son for a family session on the most beautiful fall day Saturday. I was so impressed with Mr. S and his soccer skills!

The colors of the trees were amazing and I can’t wait to share the whole lot with Bridgett and Sergio in both color and black&white, but there was something about this series that I liked with that old fashioned touch.

And a hilarious outtake!
